Interesting iron posts

Interesting iron posts

This example was on display at the Trego County Historical Society Museum in Wakeeny, KS. The museum has six or seven of them and they are between five and six feet in length, forged from iron rod about one inch in diameter.

The museum’s ID tag stated the item was part of the U.S. Cavalry’s equipment used to form a rope corral for the horses.

I question this and would appreciate any comments or information from readers.
